2026 Car Week Events Guide
Now that we’re firmly in to July, it’s time to get down to business about Monterey Car Week itineraries. For the indoctrinated, Monterey Car Week is a weeklong celebration of all things automotive, ranging from racing at the fabled Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, to the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, including lots and lots of stuff, from exotic to janky, and everything in between.
Most people will never see one in person. During car week, you see more supercars than Honda Civics
The only real bad news is that if you want to get a hotel/motel/inn room in the heart of the action, we hate to tell you that that ship has sailed. Car Week rooms and other rentals go year(s) in advance and house rentals go for thousands per night and often require multi-day reservations. Aside from that, and if you don’t mind a bit of extra driving, a Car Week adventure is absolutely possible no matter what income bracket you’re in. Please that note of how many of the events on the list are free (though beware that parking may not be). And speaking of free, if you were to just sit down on a park bench in Carmel during this time, you’d probably see more amazing things in a couple of hours than you’ve seen in your life. It's that good.
We’ve been going down to the Monterey peninsula for these festivities for about three decades now. We know that the common take is that it’s a really expensive endeavor…and it definitely can be. But with some planning and savvy, it doesn’t have to be. Below, we’ve listed all of the events we’ve been able to identify thus far, but Car Week grows every year and we’re always discovering new experiences.
