Guide: Car Week 2018
It's that time of year gain. We're a little over a month away from the premiere gathering of petrol-heads and automotive machinery in North America. For one week in August, the Monterey Peninsula becomes a fevered dream of car culture on steroids. From supercars to priceless vintage sportscars, to the world's most overstuffed uber-luxury-coaches, to the just plain janky, CarWeek is something every automotive appreciator should experience at least once. Fortunately for us, we only live a few hours from this mechanical Mecca and we always do our best to bring you as much coverage as we can cover, as we make our way down there in about a month's time.
The information below will give you an idea of the depth and breadth of Car Week events. For a little more focus and some ideas you may not have considered, please stay tuned for subsequent posts on how to "do Car Week." We won't give you all of our secrets, but we will give you some ideas that will help you prioritize things and give some flow to your experience (regardless of your bank account).

Concours on the Avenue
Tuesday, August 21, 2018: 10:00am-5:00pm
Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea
Carmel-by-the-Sea's world-famous Ocean Avenue will be closed to traffic and eighteen blocks of downtown will be filled with collector cars and related motorized fun. A fascinating mix of American and foreign cars will be showcased in front of a backdrop of charming shops, critically acclaimed restaurants and numerous galleries. The Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue will focus on vehicles not usually seen during this ten-day period. The cars will include a variety of legendary vehicles. Well over 175 cars will be on display in groups of juried classes during Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue. These will include Luxury Cars, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Sporting Cars.
