Well, things are a little slow here at the Loud Pedal....
The weather in Northern California, after a few years of meh, finally looks like a real winter. That said, car shows and car spotting have taken to the back-burner because of the cold and wet. Fortunately, I have some back stock that I want to share in the place of more current events.
Specifically, I now want to take you back to April of this year as I was taking the dogs for a walk. I was getting close to home when I noticed a Datsun 510 wagon in my local Chevron parking lot, and went in for a closer look. The car was cool, but then everything got better...way better. I turned around to see another Datsun...then another and another...
Before I knew it I was surrounded by them...and in every shape size and color. As it turns out, they were part of a Datsun owners group called Datslocos: California:https://www.facebook.com/DatslocosCalifornia/, and they were just coming from or going to a meetup. I think they were a little put off by my excessive picture taking a geeking out, so I really didn't approach them as I should have.
While I didn't get the skinny on the club or any other important information, I did get some shots of their hardware and I think you can even catch a little of their swagger from the images. There was no pretense and no hubris in this group. These cars (and truck) were drivers all, and each one a completely different expression of its owner's interpretation of what it means to own an increasingly scarce example of some of the sickest imports in all of cardom.
Please enjoy this little gallery and look for information on Datslocos in 2016.
