George Barris (November 20, 1925 - November 5, 2015)

The Loud Pedal mourns the passage of automotive royalty (and that's putting it lightly) today. The Kustom Car King died peacefully in his sleep after 2am this morning.  George Barris is widely known for creating the Batmobile  from the 60s TV show Batman, but he was responsible for so much more (KITT from Knight Rider too!).  He designed scores of vehicles for movies, TV and celebrities and we'll go so far as to say he was about the world's biggest booster for business and hobby of car customization and an inspiration for multiple generations of gearheads.  He had style and  flare and buckets of energy he wanted to share.

We will miss you George.
